Today we had another guest speaker David Joyce from Language. Language is a graphic design company which also produces advertisements, located in Dublin it produces designs and advertisements for the Ireland and Europe, Including ITB. It designed the logo for the ITB and all its publication materials. In 2002 ITB asked language to design an unique style for its publications and Language dove head first into it and with asking students what they think about the college they were able to come up with a good design. The redesigned it then in 2006 adn came up with 4 ideas that the brought back to Itb for feedback, and the logo is the one we see today in the college.

Hi all,
Yes today we had a guess speaker from fluid rock a company that provides multi-media services to businesses. The woman told use her story on how she got involved in the multi-media industry. She talked about leaving school in ucsf and working for motorala phone company in which she tried to get back tax collected in a more efficient way. She then joined Knight Ridder in the 1960, which was a large database storage company which provided colleges and business with a 90 disk database system. She then studied in Oxford where she started training in html, she then came back to Ireland and joined a coure in Arthouse (now filmhouse) doing projectmanagement. After Arthouse she stated up Fluid Rock with some friends. “you have to learn on the job”
Some projects she mentioned was lotto technology where using flash the company created an flash application on the net, but it was to advanced for its time and many peoples computers would not display it. Also she talked about culture Ireland and how three schools from south Ireland, North Ireland and DC (USA) started working online to share ideas and compose a song that was played in wasathon hall.

Yes today we just had to our interviews and they didnt go down to bad at all….It went really fast and i felt i was there 4 2min. the questions were not 2 bad and i had to talk some rubbish, but hey thats the way interviews go.
